Curtain Making Course One - 5 days

Through discussion, demonstration and making samples, this five day course aims to show students how to tackle window dressings with confidence. It is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those looking to enhance their current skills.

All materials are provided on this course. Students will cut to specificed measurements the specialist materials required for their samples. Comprehensive notes are provided as the basis of the Curtain Making Certificate Reference File.

Course One and Two make up the Curtain Making Certificate. If both courses are booked and paid for at the same time, students can take advantage of our special discount rate of £180 per day!

 

Curtain Making Course Two - 5 days

This week is for students with some experience of curtain making and follows on naturally from Course One. The five day course covers everything from hand headings, roman blinds, hardboard pelmets, swags and tails and woodweave/ vertical/ venetial blinds to setting up your own business.

Cushions - 1 day

Imagination, back with sound sewing techniques is the key to creating exciting one-off designer cushions. On this one day course you will learn the skills needed to cut, piece and fasten two different styles of cushions. There will be a general discussion of the use of different materials and trimmings to create interesting and innovative designs.

Two cushions will be completed. The first, a piped, square cushion with zip fastening to master the necessary skills and after lunch a bolster cushion with sunburst ends with button ends and zip fastening.

Notes are also given for a variety of other cushions, and excellent books are available to purchase in class. All materials are provided on the course, including cushion pags. There will be a wide variety of wonderful fabrics available, but if you would like to bring your own, please bring a metre, with half of metre for piping.
